To celebrate both boys achievements in school, we went to Monterey after school was over.  Nicholas visited the aquarium when he was very young but I doubt he remembered much of it.  We also stopped by the beach right next to Fisherman's Wharf and the kids had a blast building sand figures and forts. 

On day 2, we took Hwy 1 and just cruised up the coast looking for beaches.  We stopped by a light house and then a beach.
