Was having some problems with the server. CIHost
is looking into the problem but in the mean time, I went with my own
fix. Personally, I think we broke the server by putting too many
pictures of Nicholas into one folder!

bunch of new Jerusalem entries.

Yea, yea... It's been awhile. I am not sure how
often I will be updating now. It may happen once a week, sometimes,
every other week. I just don't know. We have to focus on other
things now like getting a house. You can read a little about that in
the family journal. (1 entry) Or go see what has been happening to
Don and Bernice in Jerusalem (5 entries). Of course, you may just
want to take a look at some of the new pictures of Nicholas. I am
sorry there aren't more this time, especially after such a long
wait. I will endeavor to do better next time!

some pictures the family section. There are some of the brand new
family member, Erik. I also added a few of my wife on her page.

The new Family
Journal has begun. No more baby updates. From now on, everything
about Nicky, me and Mui will be here. To start it off, our first
entry has been added.

A new Jerusalem entry. Many new pics of Nicky. And guess what?
We are now over 1000 pictures of him! Unbelievable, huh? There will probably be
a new Family Journal page up sometime soon this week. It should contain a little
message about someone's teeth!

playing with water. Some of them are in the Sacramento River. There are some
earlier ones of him in a lake in Oregon but I have to something before I can put
those out. I will have those next weekend.

Many of you have noticed a lack of new PoD's for Nicholas. Well,
I have finally decided to cut back on the updates. I will be updating this site
once a week now. So the Picture of the Day will obviously no longer be around.
Instead, I will put out all the pictures that we have (that we feel are
presentable) out each week under the gallery for that particular month.
There is a new baby journal entry. This should be the last baby
journal entry as I am going to make a general family journal and all updates
will be found there. The updates for Nichoals haven't always been about him
entirely anyway. So, I thought it more appropriate to just create a family
journal. It will be under the miscellaneous section.
There is also a new Jerusalem page.

I have added another Jerusalem entry (albeit late!) and fixed
the movies page for Nicholas (even more late!). I have had problems with
parallel ports on my computer and also needed a new sound card to create more
movies (I am sure people would like to see something a little more recent). I
should have all that fixed soon and will be making new movies soon.

Let's see, I put out a page for Nicholas' 1st birthday. There is
a journal entry describing his party, also. They are linked so if you find one,
you should be able to find the other.
There is also a new Jerusalem entry out there.
On another note, I had planned to stop the Picture of the Day
after his first birthday. (I mean, we can't do this his entire life, can we?) I
plan to just do a weekly or semi-weekly update to the galleries. But for now, we
have so many pictures backed up that I will keep up with everyday
pictures.

I'm a little late on a Jerusalem entry and a Baby Update but
they are out there now. My wife and I just had a discussion about the baby
updates since they seem to be more like family updates. So I may move them soon
to another location or just start a family journal section. I'll think about it.

I have been updating the picture of the day but have found out
that the server hasn't been set right for awhile. I have no idea how long this
problem has existed so I am not going to try to go back and start the picture of
the day's over again. Besides, everything is in the gallery anyway.

Mui added a baby journal entry a few days ago while I was at a
conference in San Jose. Today, I added a picture to Mui's page and fixed a few

been an Information Systems Analyst in quite awhile.

Removed the old site and replaced it with an updated and
redesigned site. It gives the site a more professional feel and removes the
frames.

Surgery went well. Very sore. But I am doing better with each
hour.

The auto-update feature of my FTP program failed to upload the
PoD yesterday and I forgot to do it this morning.
On a personal note, I will be going in for surgery tomorrow.
It is a minor operation and it should not affect this site at all. I will let
you know how things went tomorrow.

PoD went out kinda screwed up. I fixed them and left them out
for another day. This is a problem with my computer, not the server. It is a
problem I have been having for awhile but have yet to solve.

Since CIHost was down again most of the day, I am leaving the
PoDs up. Don't know why CIHost is having so many problems. I just checked their
homepage and found that today's date is 'Monday January 3, 19100'. Pretty
scary!!
Removed the Christmas Theme. Thinking about a major overhaul
of the site which will require redoing all the pages plus removing the frames.

CIHost lost it's domain servers for the last couple of days.
This prevented anyone from reaching the site via the site name (vanzandt.net).
While the site was still accessible via the numeric address, I don't think that
very many people know it. Thus, I did not update the site while CIHost's domain
servers were down.
CIHost has apologized for this problem but as some of you may
know, it isn't the first time that I have had trouble with them. However, I have
no plans to leave them in the immediate future. When we buy a house, I will get
a DSL line installed and keep my own web server at home. While this may add to
some problems since I will have to get up to speed on maintaining my own web
server, eventually, I feel that the problems will be a thing of the past.
In the mean time, I have fallen behind in the pictures and
will put one or two extra out each night until I am caught up.
