To wrap up this busy summer with a bang, we went camping in the middle of September.  This year, we chose Shasta Mountain because it was closer to my youngest sister (May) so that her family would be able to make it.  However, that didn't really work out, but we still went anyways.  Originally, the trip was planned for the middle of August, but things came up (like Bryce's wedding) so we had to move it.

The boys had lots of fun during the trip.  Sad part is that Michael was not able to make it due to some severe head pains that lasted 8 straight days.  (You can find out more about that in the family journal.)  Michael didn't want to disappoint the boys so I ended up taking them and leaving Mackenzie with my parents.  Another change this year is that we decided to bring my older sister's kids with us also.  Since Michael didn't go along, we had plenty of room in our tent to fit all the extra kids.  We left Sacramento on Friday and got there about 6 PM.  Day 1 was just a lot of unpacking and dinner.

Day 2, after breakfast, we went to see the waterfall (Burney Falls).  It was beautiful and breathe taking.  We ended up walking the "Fall Loop" which loops around the entire fall from top to bottom.  During the entire hike, I was thinking to myself what Michael was missing because it was so nice.  I tried to take lots of pictures so that Michael can see and hopefully, everyone else can enjoy it also.  After the hike, we went back to camp to make lunch.  After lunch, we headed to the lake and did some fishing and swimming.  This is the first time the boys got to fish.  Although we didn't really catch anything, the boys had lots of fun trying to cast their poles.  I think a few others (including the adults) also had fun trying to do the same thing.  After the lake, we headed back to camp for dinner, smores, and a game of telephone.
